Job Summary:
Under the general supervision of the Sr. Director of the Operations and Quality, the Repair and Quality Engineering Manager will be responsible for managing a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) lab for the delivery of post-sales services and support to customers and leading a team of QE/testing personnel and providing leadership to define and implement well-balanced test strategies across Ampro ADLINK Technology’s product lines.
Essential Job Functions (include, but are not limited to the following):
- Hire, manage, and coach RMA, QE, and lab staff and help them develop their skills and abilities to meet high quality standards, schedules, and productivity requirements
- Establish and monitor RMA and QE departmental goals and objectives
- Work closely with internal departments such as Receiving Inspection, San Jose Manufacturing Team, Advanced Engineering Group, and the Engineering Team to help with resolution of repair issues
- Develop key metrics and reports to monitor the effectiveness of RMA and quality systems and recommend improvements
- Manage or conduct annual internal audits, supplier audits, or audits conducted by our customers as required
- Review and manage priorities to support overall corporate objectives and evaluate work methods, procedures and policies to ensure world-class quality standards are attainable
- Understand and apply all regulatory requirements applicable to the company’s products and for those certifications held in the company (ISO 9001 & TL 9000, ISO 14001, ISO 13485, ISO 17025 and OHSAS 18001)
- Propose technical/processes/equipment modifications to ensure continuous improvements of product/process
- Provide ESD/Quality Training to new hires
- CPR/First Aid Certification or ability to obtain certification
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Responsible for the close supervision to Quality Engineers, Test Engineer, RMA Technician Lead, Sr. Technician, Technicians, Rework Technician, and Temporary RMA Technician Assistant.
Job Qualifications:
Education:
BS degree in Quality, Engineering or a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Experience:
Minimum of 10 years of experience in Quality Assurance and Quality Engineering, with at least 5 years of which should be in a leadership role in a manufacturing environment.
Communication Skills:
- Ability to read and interpret regulatory documents. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- Ability to communicate effectively on a one-to-one basis and to make verbal group presentations
- Other Qualifications:
- Strong analytical, problem solving and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to work in a team and independently
- Ability to act as mentor and provide technical training to less experienced engineers and technicians
- Ability to identify, select and develop great talent
- Excellent interpersonal skills needed for working in a team environment
- Goal oriented and well organized
- Effective time management and excellent attention to detail
- Ability to travel locally when necessary

- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit; regularly use hands to handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; talk and hear; and doing things such as analytical work or reports, which requires focus, while utilizing a computer.
- Must be able to operate general office equipment
- Physical stamina to stand, reach, bend, lift, grasp, and kneel.
- The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
- The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate
